CONTINUED EDUCATION CREDITS REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATION RENEWAL

Re-Certification

The AIMRRA’s re-certification requirements are designed to promote each Certified Healthcare Record Reviewer™ (CHRR™) to continue professional development through educational training, courses and seminars that will aid the community more effectively. The American International Medical Record Review Association, Inc considers that Certified Healthcare Record Reviewer™ (CHRR™) should continue to expand their expertise and competences through academic trainings and/or programs. The Certified Healthcare Record Reviewer™ (CHRR™) certification is valid for two years.

 

CHRR™ Certifications are current for two years from the date of issue. The certificate holder must accumulate thirty eight (38) Continued Education Credits (CECs) prior to the certification expiration date. The certification holder may accumulate the required hours at any time during the two-year certification period. An updated of events of activities and products which qualify for Continued Education Credits (CECs) is available on the Association website at www.aimrra.org. The individual must have a valid CHRR™ certification to continue to use the Certified Healthcare Record Reviewer™ (CHRR™) designation.

 

If the individual does not complete the require Continued Education Credits (CECs), then the individual must complete one of the Continued Education Credits (CECs) options and/or pass the CHRR™ exam to reinstate the CHRR™ certification and continue to use the CHRR™ designation.

 

Continued Education Credits (CECs)

The following are AIMRRA’s Continued Education Credits (CECs) policies, requirements, resources to assist you locate approved AIMRRA’s Continued Education Credits (CECs) opportunities and tools to manage your continuing education.

Approved Continued Education Programs

  • American Medical Association (AMA)

  • National Association - Clinical Social Workers (CSWA)

  • Project Management Institute (PMI)

  • State Boards of Nursing

*Other professional organizations may be approved for continued education and will be reviewed for approval.

(CECs) Policies

  • Continued Education Credits (CECs) must come from the AIMRRA Approved CEC Vendor List.

  • Continued Education Credits (CECs) programs are limited to a one time use unless otherwise specified.

  • Continued Education Credits (CECs) must be earned and submitted within your two-year renewal period.

  • Continued Education Credits (CECs) are counted based on the date of completion and/or date of certification exam.

  • More than 50% of all Continued Education Credits (CECs) submissions will continue to be randomly selected for verification. Member should complete the continued education credits form and upload their CECs certificates into their membership account.

  • Please note that certificates must have title of program attended, your full name, number of CEC or CEU approved credits, date of program, organization name and contact information.

  • Continued Education Credits (CECs) earned prior to certification will not be accepted.

Continued Education Credits (CECs) Verification

  • More than 50% of all Continued Education Credits (CECs) submissions will continue to be randomly selected for verification. Member should complete the continued education credits form and upload their CECs certificates into their membership account.

Verification Requirements

  • Members/Students are not notified of verification quality checks until it is performed. An email will be sent afterwards with approval or details on what else is needed.

Ethics Policy

It is essential that certified members complete their own education to stay up to date on industry changes.

The below list contains examples of Continued Education Credits (CECs) that should not be shared:

  • Certificates of completion of any kind

  • Answers to quizzes, including but not limited to:

    • Members’ Account/Webinar/Live Chats/Events  pre and post-tests

    • Practice Reviewer by AIMRRA

  • Screenshots or Links to quizzes or exams

  • Shared passwords and purchaser log in information.

  • Links to any AIMRRA’S education that is limited to the purchaser, including but not limited to:

  • Webinars

  • Workshops

  • Chats/Events sessions

  • Outdated free links

  • Once they’ve been removed from the website, they are no longer eligible for Continued Education Credits (CECs).

 

To access AIMRRA’s Code of Ethics, click here or go to www.aimrra.org. AIMRRA reserves the right to submit member accounts to the ethics committee if we feel false CECs are being submitted or ethics are being violated. An outcome may include revocation of credentials and/or membership.
